BBQ Secrets Revealed Review

bbqsecretsTo conduct this BBQ Secrets Revealed review I used the exact method I used for the previous review of its rival, Competition Barbecue Secrets on April 12, 2009.

I invited my mom and dad over to an afternoon barbecue on Sunday,  April 19, 2009, and tried out 1 recipe each for chicken thighs, drumsticks, and breasts, and baby back ribs.

Looking through the ebook was almost overwhelming.  It is packed with information that really can’t be assimilated in one or two readings, so I started researching the ebook on the Tuesday before this barbecue.

When it was time for the taste test, my parents loved the chicken and said it was one of the best tasting ones they’ve ever had just like the book promised.  I thought the chicken was excellent, certainly better than anything that I used to prepare, but Competition Barbecue Secrets slightly beat them out on this one.

“My kids were taken aback by the ribs and said they were the best they ever had.  I agreed with them; the baby back ribs may have been the best I’ve ever had, and I spent a few moments licking my fingers while no one was looking.”

Here’s some of the information you’ll get:

How a beginner can start to easily prepare awesome barbecue meals.

When exactly to add barbecue sauce.

The exact barbecue temperatures to use while cooking all types of meat, fish, or fowl.

How to barbecue the best tasting chicken you’ll ever eat.

The best woods to smoke your barbecue with and why some woods are not good at all.

Inside secrets on how restaurants get BBQ flavor on the inside of the chicken as well as on the outside.

Barbecuing seafood secrets.

A way to prepare the best tasting baby back ribs you’ll ever have.

The list is too long for the purpose of this article.

The Bad

This is definitely an excellent reference book but there is so much territory to cover, it makes it a little tiresome to look through the entire thing.  This book is best for people who love to read and research before putting themselves into action.

The Good

It is a very thorough book containing all you’ll ever need to make great barbecues.  The chicken and ribs I had with this cookbook were excellent – far better than ribs you buy in a restaurant such as Outback Steakhouse or Longhorn’s Steakhouse.

Finally…

This is an excellent product worth far more than what I paid for.  It contains an answer to almost every single question anyone could have about the mystery of barbecuing the right way.

This book is excellent for beginners who want to learn the right way and for experienced cooks looking to drastically improve their skills, but only if they are able to swallow their pride and realize they’ve been doing much of their barbecuing the wrong way!  And yes, you will have the answer to, “How long do you cook baby back ribs?”
